Grown too old for the "Golden Rule?" Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning. An evil man is snared by his own sin, but a righteous one can sing and be glad. The righteous care about justice for the poor, but the wicked have no such concern. He who pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. Jesus said: "Do for others what you want them to do for you: this is the meaning of the Law of Moses and the teaching of the prophets." Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! For He has blessed us, in our union with Christ, by giving us every spiritual gift in the heavenly world. Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! Continue to love each other with true brotherly love. Don't forget to be kind to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! Don't forget about those in jail. Suffer with them as though you were there yourself. Share the sorrow of those being mistreated, for you know what they are going through. Remember your leaders who have taught you the Word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and try to trust the Lord as they do. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever is kind to the needy honors God. When calamity comes, the wicked are brought down, but even in death the righteous have a refuge. The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but violence overwhelms the mouth of the wicked. The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing. The way of the Lord is a refuge for the righteous, but it is the ruin of those who do evil. The righteous will never be uprooted, but the wicked will not remain in the land. The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom, but a perverse tongue will be cut out. The lips of the righteous know what is fitting, but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse. An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips. Taken from Pr. 9, 29, 21, Mt. 6, Eph. 1, Rom. 11, Heb.
