Is there really something special about Jesus? For there is one God, and also one mediator between God and men, Christ Jesus, Himself Man, Who sacrificed Himself to win freedom for all mankind, so providing, at the fitting time, proof of the divine purpose . . . "I Myself am the way," Jesus [said], "and the truth and the life. No one approaches the Father except through Me." What good can it do a man to gain the whole world at the price of his own soul? What can a man offer to buy back his soul once he has lost it? For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God . . . it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he has done, whether it be good or bad. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. [Jesus said:] "I solemnly assure you that the man who hears what I have to say and believes in the One Who has sent Me has eternal life. He does not have to face judgment; He has already passed from death into life." Yet the proof of God's amazing love is this: that it was while we were sinners that Christ died for us. The man who believes in the Son has eternal life. The man who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life; he lives under the anger of God. For it is by grace that you are saved, through faith. This does not depend on anything you have achieved, it is the free gift of God; and because it is not earned no man can boast about it. For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world: but that the world through Him might be saved. God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son, that everyone who has faith in Him may not die but have eternal life. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved . . . If you openly admit by your own lips that Jesus is the Lord, and if you believe in your own heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Every word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him. Taken from Pr. 30, Mk. 8, Jn. 3, 5, 14, Acts 4, Rom. 3,
