A promise long in coming is still a promise!
Lifescope says, "God won't let you down!"
Blessings on the Lord, the God of Israel, because He
has turned His face towards His people and has set them free!
And He has raised up for us a standard of salvation in the house of
His servant David. Long, long ago, through the words of His holy
prophets, He promised to do this for us . . . So does He
remember the holy agreement He made with them and the oath which He
swore to our father Abraham, to make us this gift: that we should be saved
from the hands of our enemies, and in His presence should serve Him
unafraid in holiness and righteousness all our lives.
Do you want more and more of God's kindness and peace? Then learn to know
Him better and better.
[Paul said this:] "I have been sent to bring faith to those God has
chosen and to teach them to know God's truth - the kind of truth that
changes lives - so that they can have eternal life, which
God promised them before the world began - and He cannot lie."
For God loved the world so much that He gave His only Son so that
anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. God did
not send His Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it. Now, when
sins have once been forever forgiven and forgotten, there is no need to
offer more sacrifices to get rid of them. And so, dear brothers, now we
may walk right into the very Holy of Holies where God is, because
of the blood of Jesus. Now we can look forward to the salvation God
has promised us. There is no longer any room for doubt, and we can
tell others that salvation is ours, for there is no question that He
will do what He says.
Blessed be the Lord, Who bears our burdens and carries us day by day,
even the God Who is our salvation! [Pause, and calmly think of that!] God is
to us a God of deliverances and salvation, and to God, the Lord, belongs
escape from death [setting us free].
Every promise of God finds its affirmative in Him,
and through Him can be said the final amen, to the glory of God. Both you
and we owe our position in Christ to this God of positive promise: it
is He Who has consecrated us to this special work, He Who has given us the
living guarantee of the Spirit in our hearts.
