Is higher education a prerequisite to leadership?
Lifescope says, "It ain't necessarily so!"
. . . Jesus went to the temple and began to teach.
Then the Jews were astonished; they said, "How does this person know the
Scriptures without an education?" Jesus replied to them, "My teaching is
not Mine but His Who sent Me. If anyone wills to do His will
he will understand the teaching, whether it is from God or whether I speak
from Myself. Anyone presenting his own ideas is looking for praise for
himself, but He Who seeks the glory of the One Who sent Him is true,
and no unrighteousness is in Him. He Who sent Me is with Me; He has not left
Me alone, for I always do what pleases Him."
"All of us must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the One
Who sent Me, for there is little time left before the night falls
and all work comes to an end."
For Jesus was faithful to God Who appointed Him High
Priest, just as Moses also faithfully served in God's house. But Jesus has
far more glory than Moses, just as a man who builds a fine house gets more
praise than his house does. And many people can build houses, but only God
made everything. Well, Moses did a fine job working in God's house, but he
was only a servant; and his work was mostly to illustrate and suggest those
things that would happen later on. But Christ, God's faithful Son,
is in complete charge of God's house. And we Christians are God's house - He
lives in us! - if we keep up our courage firm to the end, and our joy and
our trust in the Lord. And since Christ is so much superior, the Holy Spirit
warns us to listen to Him, to be careful to hear His voice today
. . .
The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the spirit of wisdom
and under-standing, the spirit of
counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the
reverence of the Lord; and His delight shall be in the reverence of the
Lord. He shall not judge by what His eyes see, or decide by what His ears
hear; but with justice shall He judge the poor, and with fairness shall He
decide for the meek of the land. He shall strike the earth with the rod of
His mouth, and the wicked He shall slay with the breath of His lips.
Righteousness shall be the girdle of His waist, and faithfulness
the belt for His loins.
