I delight to do Your will, O my God, and Your law is within my heart. Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness. Now He Who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. For the One Whom God has sent speaks the words of God; to Him God gives the Spirit without limit. The Father loves the Son and has placed everything in His hands.

   [Paul started one of his letters like this:] "Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ."

   [Paul wrote about a friend:] "Epaphras, who is one of you and a servant of Christ Jesus, sends greetings. He is always wrestling in prayer for you, that you may stand firm in all the will of God, mature and fully assured."

   Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ. Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart. Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.

   Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not put out the Spirit's fire; do not treat prophecies with contempt. Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil.

   May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The One Who calls you is faithful and He will do it.

   I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

   With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of His calling, and that by His power He may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith.
