[From Ezekiel, to the false prophets in Israel:] "So I shall tear down the wall which you plastered over with whitewash and bring it down to the ground, so that its foundation is laid bare; and when it falls, you will be consumed in its midst. And you will know that I am the Lord."
   [From Isaiah, to the rebellious Israelites:] Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel, "Since you have rejected this word, and have put your trust in oppression and guile, and have relied on them, therefore this iniquity will be to you like a breach about to fall, a bulge in a high wall, whose collapse comes suddenly in an instant."
   [From Jeremiah prophesied to the foreign nations of Damascus and Babylon:] "Damascus has become feeble and all her people turn to flee. Fear, anguish and sorrow have gripped her as they do women in labor. O famous city, city of joy, how you are forsaken now! Therefore, her young men will fall in her streets, and all the men of war will be silenced in that day," declares the Lord of hosts. "And I shall set fire to the wall of Damascus, and it will devour the fortified towers of Ben-Hadad.
   ". . . I will repay Babylon and all the inhabitants of Chaldea for all their evil that they have done in Zion before your eyes," declares the Lord, "and I will stretch out My hand against you, and roll you down from the crags and I will make you a burnt out mountain. And they will not take from you even a stone for a corner nor a stone for foundations, but you will be desolate forever," declares the Lord. ". . . and I shall punish Bel in Babylon, and I shall make what he has swallowed come out of his mouth; and the nations will no longer stream to him. Even the wall of Babylon has fallen down!"
   [From Ezekiel, to Gog:] "And it will come about on that day, when Gog comes against the land of Israel," declares the Lord God, "that My fury will mount up in My anger. And in My zeal and in My blazing wrath I declare that on that day there will surely be a great earthquake in the land of Israel . . . and all the men who are on the face of the earth will shake at My presence; the mountains also will be thrown down, the steep pathways will collapse, and every wall will fall to the ground."
