The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none who does good. They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. Only a fool would say to himself, "There is no God." And why does he say it? Because of his wicked heart, his dark and evil deeds. His life is corroded with sin.
   Anyone who oppresses the poor is insulting God Who made them. To help the poor is to honor God. He who gains by oppressing the poor or by bribing the rich shall end in poverty. The unjust tyrant will reap disaster and his reign of terror shall end. The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed.
   The kings of the earth prepare to fight. Their leaders make plans together against the Lord and His appointed King. But the Lord in heaven laughs. He makes fun of them. Then the Lord warns them. He frightens them with His anger. He says, "I have appointed My own King! He will rule in Jerusalem on My holy mountain." [He says to His Son:] "You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel." Show that you are loyal to His Son. Otherwise you will be destroyed. He can quickly become angry. But happy are those who trust Him for protection. Do you rulers indeed speak justly? Do you judge uprightly among men? No, in your heart you plan evil. You think up violent crimes in the land. [The Lord says:] "You have earned the full reward of trusting in a lie - believing that military might and great armies can make a nation safe! Therefore the terrors of war shall rise among your people, and all your forts will fall . . ."
   From birth evil men start doing bad things. They tell lies and do wrong as soon as they are born. Will the evildoers never learn - those who devour My people as men eat bread and who do not call on God? But soon unheard-of terror will fall on them. God will scatter the bones of these your enemies. They are doomed, for God has rejected them. His anger will blow them away alive . . . Then people will say, "There really are rewards for doing what is right. There really is a God Who judges the world."
